Waiting

What melancholy this

that descends upon me

as cold before a storm

drifts upon a breath of wind

Why surrounded by such

happiness yet unable to

partake as my heart

is consumed by shades of gray

I cannot celebrate while

waiting I must keep

my resolve for unseen

obstacles ahead of me

From darkness I came

and into darkness I go

the sun shines its light

not on eyes filled with sorrow

About The Lost Poet

I write because I find inspiration. It is my hope that through my writing some connections may be felt. Everything I write comes from my experiences with life, and with the people that I love. I try to remember to see myself in everyone, and everyone in myself.
