Quiet

My old familiar friend returns

inside the sorrow softly burns

the tears well up and roll down

in my ears, there rings no sound

yet devastation consumes me not

for calmly do I stand at the spot

I drown here peacefully quiet

and accept without trying to hide it

nothing will change the love in my heart

even as chisels crack it apart

About The Lost Poet

I write because I find inspiration. It is my hope that through my writing some connections may be felt. Everything I write comes from my experiences with life, and with the people that I love. I try to remember to see myself in everyone, and everyone in myself.

I also love the last two lines. The love is there, only now encased.
By pain? Amour enarmoured? I have been there too.
