To a Coffee Shop

Quiet jazz fills the air

The smell of coffee everywhere

Quiet chatter, grinding beans

Delicious baked treats in between

Quiet students oft drop by

Exam exhaustion in their eye

Quiet couples on a date

Wond’ring of their heart’s new fate

Quiet workers at their art

Delicious drinks which calm the heart

Quietly I sit and watch

As people sit close by and talk

Quiet afternoon so dark

In a coffee shop not stark

About The Lost Poet

I write because I find inspiration. It is my hope that through my writing some connections may be felt. Everything I write comes from my experiences with life, and with the people that I love. I try to remember to see myself in everyone, and everyone in myself.
