Life’s Sweet irony

Oh what sweet ironic humor have I

That laughter in my soul brings deep

For that memorized sonnet in my mind

Now describes the reason I can’t sleep

One simple dance, one night it took

Her dress, her eyes, her smile, her voice

As if from outlaid a storybook

My vision fills without a choice

Though a name I can’t recall

Which ashamed I must admit

Save her I did from a clumsy fall

Yet quick was I with my wit

Next I’ll her name not forget to take

Lest again me keeps it wide awake

About The Lost Poet

I write because I find inspiration. It is my hope that through my writing some connections may be felt. Everything I write comes from my experiences with life, and with the people that I love. I try to remember to see myself in everyone, and everyone in myself.
