The Hardest Thing

It’s not going through change,

Or admitting defeat,

Nor overcoming shame,

Facing deep fears,

Saying goodbye,

Apologizing,

Disagreeing with a loved one,

Disciplining children,

Battling poverty,

Quashing racism, sexism, prejudice,

Making amends for hurt inflicted,

Memorizing the Presidents of the US,

Passing an exam,

Getting into college, grad school,

Finding employment,

Fighting disease,

Curing disease,

Losing love,

Or forgiving others.

No.

The hardest thing

Is to forgive

Ourselves.

About The Lost Poet

I write because I find inspiration. It is my hope that through my writing some connections may be felt. Everything I write comes from my experiences with life, and with the people that I love. I try to remember to see myself in everyone, and everyone in myself.
